About the TPA
The Tournament Players Association of Southwest Florida, Inc. was founded by renowned amateur Doug Oselett in 1989 with the purpose of conducting high quality amateur golf championships at area clubs in Southwest Florida.
Oselett and his staff have run over 250 golf tournaments at nearly every private, semi-private and public facility on the Gulf Coast. Well over 300,000 tournament rounds have been played over the past 13 years. All events have been 36 hole stroke play with the exception of one Better Ball of two event, as well as a Match Play Championship each year.
The TPA has awarded nearly $1,000,000 in gift certificate prize money to hundreds of area amateurs through these events.
Oselett was named Amateur of the Year by the Southwest Florida Chapter of the PGA for his efforts.
Oselett worked as a golf professional at well known country clubs in the Michigan section during the 70s including the famous Oakland Hills Country Club in Birmingham, Michigan for three years.
He also competed on two National Championship Junior College golf teams as well as five winters of mini-tour competition, both in Florida and Arizona.
"Im looking forward to conducting the same high quality tournament golf that I have provided the amateurs of Southwest Florida for the past 13 years to the golf professionals who participate on the GulfCoast Gold Tour." "Great golf courses, great purses and great players"
